Omega even lists the line in the vintage database as Pre Bond. My Omega Seamaster Pro 200 "Pre-Bond" is always on my wrist. I absolutely love it. These are way underrated and a big bang for your buck. I'm saving some cash each month for my mom's retirement gift and hope to find her a full . Big fan of modern omega and have always been curious about these especially as they are quite a bit more affordable.. And seen plenty available on elady and other sites. I had wondered about the quality/workmanship level in this generation of the seamaster, so thank you for commenting on that.
I love the 200m pre bond. I have 10 of them, 4 are automatic full size and the others are quartz full size and mid size. The bracelet will be an issue to fix, you could go to Omega and ask them if they have it. I've got a ref. 396.1062 from 1993 (pre-Bond, all steel, later variant with sword hands and double-clasp bracelet). It's been recently serviced and regulated, so I think it's best I can get. Though the real life accuracy will vary a lot, due to the varying temperatures.
Beautiful watch. I have the midsize quartz model and I love it. The Pre Bond is so criminally underrated in my opinion.
0 CAD is definitely a great price. The 1438 quartz movement is one of the best quartz out there. This is my first luxury watch, and I am fortunate to have it fairly early in my watch collecting game. It is an Omega Seamaster 396.1062, also called the Pre Bond model by some. Made circa 1993. It is powered by a quartz Omega 1438 . This lovely little website right here gives a great account of the Omega Seamaster Pre Bond Automatic and all of its relatives. Omega made quartz versions of this watch which are incredibly plentiful and achingly cheap (often somewhere around the €1,000 mark or less).
One has all original movements but a loose security clasp and a slightly worn bezel. The other option is in perfect aesthetic condition but the watch has been serviced and the 1438 quatz movement has been replaced with a modern Swiss eta replacement.
