They basically took a watch I really liked and made it one I absolutely love. Lumed 3,6,9, and triangle at 12 - . I have a piece of Rolex Air King 144000 purchased in 1998. I am very fond of this timepiece both for its simplicity in style and the uniqueness of its history. However there is relatively few discussion of this model and I would like to see if there are other AK owners willing to share their experience and opinions here.

The plastic crystal on the 5500 I know is 'warmer' and easy to buff up, but the sapphire is harder wearing and more practical, as there's a chance I might scratch it.
